Return papers - allow for questions re: my markings
Discuss 5 paragraph essay:
Concentrate on the three Body paragraphs since we’ve been working on paragraph writing.
Discuss Introduction and Conclusion but plan to return for more indepth study.
Introduce Thesis Statement which is usually found at the end of the Introduction.
Write the following Thesis Statement on board:
Ice cream is the best dessert because it is delicious, easy to find, and comes in many flavors. Write the three body paragraphs that would go with this thesis statement.
Shared writing. Create together and I will write on the board an essay about elbows being essential. Thesis statement: Without elbows I would be unable to comb my hair, brush my teeth or fix a sandwich for lunch. We will create together the three body paragraphs.
Students are to write a thesis statement and the three body paragraphs for the following prompt: Tell about your favorite relative, friend, etc.
Students review each other’s paper.
