    Anna studied and received her ESL certificate at Huntington University. She has taught English as a Foreign Language in places such as Ukraine, India and China. Along with teaching at ACE, she coordinates the visa application process for students. In her free time, Anna likes to play volleyball, go to the beach or spend time with friends.

She holds a Ph.D. Linguistics, University of Washington; MA Linguistics, University of Washington; M.A. Education, Claremont Graduate School; and B.A. English, Whitman College.

Administrative Structure

  • Position Summary

    The Program Director plans, organizes, staffs, leads, and manages all Institute for Academic and Career English operations and programs. The Program Director leads the campus in its commitment to the highest level of professional, educational, ethical, and environmental excellence. This is a full-time position with hours determined by business needs.

    Successful candidates will have a well rounded background in the operations of ESL programs, strong leadership skills and business acumen, previous experience in second-language classrooms, and a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off.

    Oral English communication skills will be evaluated based on a face to face interview in person or online and according to the ACE Evaluation of Teacher Candidate Spoken English Rubric, developed from the Common European Frame of Reference.

    Written English communication skills will be evaluated based on the candidate’s spontaneous written response to a provided prompt and according to the ACE Evaluation of Candidate Written English Rubric.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • supervise and oversee the daily operations of Institute ACE and its programs

    • provide leadership in all areas of management, marketing and operations

    • assure compliance with CEA, SEVIS and other partner organizations

    • provide reports to the Advisory Board, owners, and partner organizations including CEA and SEVIS

    • adhere to approved budgets and provide appropriate information for budget development

    • follow Institute ACE procedures for recruiting, selecting, training, developing, and maintaining an effective and collaborative faculty and staff

    • plan, assign and direct work; evaluate faculty and staff performance; address complaints and resolve problems

    • ensure that all faculty and staff adhere to Institute ACE policies and procedures; reward and discipline faculty and staff

    • ensure that the campus improvement plan is implemented effectively

    • conduct regular staff meetings to ensure communication, feedback, and professional development

    • conduct graduation ceremonies

    • participate in appropriate professional development

    • supervise the development and delivery of educational programs and curriculum

    • ensure the fair administration of the Institute ACE policies and procedures

    • ensure the fair and productive administration of Institute ACE admissions policies

    The Academic Administrator ensures that faculty and students have the resources and information they need to flourish. This position reports to the Program Director and collaborates closely with the Learning Coordinator. The Academic Administrator supports the campus-wide commitment to the highest level of professional, educational, ethical, and environmental excellence. Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written language, teaching, and communication skills and a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off.

    • schedule, announce and direct term launch/end of term meetings

    • confirm teacher availability and student enrollment for next term

    • assist the Program Director with the term schedule

    • ensure progress reports are sent to students

    The Assessment Director ensures that ACE assessment is developed, administered and evaluated well and remains in alignment with our mission and course goals as our program evolves. This position reports to the Campus Director and collaborates closely with other members of the Academic Leadership Team. The Assessment Director supports the campus-wide commitment to the highest level of professional, educational, ethical, and environmental excellence. Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written language, teaching, and communication skills and a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off. Successful candidates will have a rich understanding of language acquisition, second language instruction and assessment.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • provide professional development to ensure faculty understands the SLOs and can provide instruction that effectively supports student mastery of the SLOs.

    • ensure continued alignment of our curriculum with the needs of our student body.

    • write original assessments and review teacher-made assessments.

    • schedule assessment of the full complement of level SLOs in a timely manner.

    • monitor the administration of assessments.

    • grade assessments and supervise others in grading assessments.

    • participate in meetings, faculty evaluations, complaint resolutions, and school events

    The Business Development Leader drives the creation, marketing and delivery of new revenue streams for J. Johnson Holdings, LLC.  This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off and the discipline to respect company confidentiality and client privacy.

Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written language, teaching, and communication skills and a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off. Successful candidates will have strong mentoring skills and a commitment to collaboration, previous experience in second-language programs and the ability to identify pain points in the teaching/learning environment and propose solutions

The Operations Assistant supports the campus-wide commitment to the highest level of professional, educational, ethical, and environmental excellence. Successful candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a well-developed ability to collaborate with others on campus and off.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • welcome and provide general support to teachers, students and campus visitors

    • respond to phone calls, emails and texts during business hours

    • update student contact information on contact management system

    • maintain contact management system

    • help organize and maintain school common areas

    • perform general office clerk duties and errands

    • network with individuals and organizations to drive revenue

  • Position Summary

    The Primary Designated School Official is a SEVIS appointed position who coordinates the visa process with F1 students.
