Wednesday, March 27 - AM Fluency

We began by discussing famous people who spent time in prison: Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, and Nelson Mandela.

From there, we returned to the article on Elvis Presley. Learning about Elvis’s marriage and the fact the he refused sexual relations with any women who were either pregnant or had children, we had a lengthy discussion about sexual mores. 

Concluding the article, we did an SLO exercise on the article, scanning it to find important information. 

We listened to two Elvis songs, one from the beginning of his career and one from the end: “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Suspicious Minds.” 

At the end of class, we briefly talked about St. Patrick in preparation for our next unit.
