Quite a few SS were missing tonight.

The SS split into groups and I had them preview the vocabulary in bold on page10 to establish how much they already knew. They knew quite a lot. Then I had the SS read the 3 stories aloud. One S read and the other summarized, then they switched. Everyone had a chance to read/summarize.

Then they completed the sentences with the vocab they just learned.

They had fun with the Quiz - what should you do if you encounter a ___ ?

We finished the class with a lively discussion about SS experiences with animals in the wild.
