Return student papers from last class. Discuss.
Create topic sentences for 8 paragraphs on worksheet Got Any Wise Ideas? Share ideas on board.
Write a paragraph about cars. Create your topic sentence and decide on your support. Then write a paragraph about cars. When finished, highlight the topic sentence in orange, the support details in yellow, and the conclusion in green.
Small Group Working on Five Paragraph Essays (Tuesday, only.)
Read the Pet Essay and color code it: orange for topic sentence; yellow for support, and green for conclusion.
Read the Disneyland Essay and color code it as we did above.
Working together, create clusters for the following topic sentences:
