Wednesday, April 24 - AM Fluency

We spent nearly half our class on our opening-discussion question: Do humans have free will? We analyzed this question from various angles, from a religious perspective, and from an atheistic perspective. We looked at genetic and cultural factors. In the end, even those who initially believed in free will had to make numerous qualifications. At the very least, our free will is limited.

We spent the rest of the class reading an article for our next unit: Ancient Greece. The article focused on three pillars of the Greek legacy to the Western world: democracy, philosophy, and drama. Next class, we will discuss some of the main philosophical ideas of Plato and Aristotle.
