Tuesday, April 23 - AM Fluency

Opening conversation today centered on philosophy: specifically a problem most often identified as the trolley problem. Basically, would you kill one person to save five? We had an invigorating conversation about this ethical dilemma.

We then spent more time practicing pronouncing -ed endings. We also practiced pronouncing those problematic words from last class, but also adding the words “stand” and “bend.”

After that, we finished reading the article on Portland.

We listened to two songs, one of which connected to our previous unit on gender equality: Heart’s “Barracuda.” The second song was Sarah Brightman’s “Once in a Lifetime,” a song whose heavenly music contrasts shockingly with its gritty lyrics.
