Opening conversation: What was the last good movie you watched?

After the opening conversation, we had a storytelling contest. Consistent with our unit on education, we each told a story from our school days: stories about getting into trouble; problems with teachers; that person we had a crush on, etc. Ricardo was the comedian throughout the whole contest; we all decided that he should get a job in comedy. 

We then continued reading the article on education and had wide-ranging conversations on standardized testing, cultural colonization, and the nature of human beings (naturally good or evil?).
