“Museums:  Who owns what?”

Students discussed scenarios involving a book and who it belongs to.  They were given several variables.  They had to agree, disagree, or hedge their responses.

Students read about various museums and governments and how many countries want their artifacts back.  They were taken during war, etc.  What should be done?  Should they go back?  Groups moved around the room discussing opinions on posters and who would agree or not agree with it.

Students wrote five “commandments” they would follow if they were the curator of a museum.
