Reviewed exercises 11 & 12 on page 15 and exercises 15 & 16 on page 19 of Writing Power 1. Review the types of pronouns - personal (subject and object) and possessive pronouns. Using the pictures on pages 16-17, students wrote 5 sentences with various pronouns (subject, object, possessive adjectives). Sentences were written on the board to be reviewed by all the students.
Introduced possessive pronouns. Possessive pronouns take the place of a possessive adjective and the noun.
Mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours, and theirs
Example: Is this your phone? Yes, it is my phone. OR Yes, it is mine.
“Mine” takes the place of “my phone”
We briefly practiced using the questions “Is this yours” or “Whose ____ is this?”
