Warm up:  What do you do every morning?

Students told each other about their morning routines.  I wrote commonly used verbs on the board.

We reviewed parts of a simple sentence.  Last week, we wrote simple sentences with two subjects and one verb.  This week we wrote simple sentences with one or two subjects and two or more verbs.  We completed exercise 6 & 7 and page 50 of WP1.  

Next, we read about compound sentences, page 51.  A compound sentence is two related simple sentences joined with a connector word (and, but, so).  Students completed exercises 8-10 on pages 52-53.  Students wrote compound sentences on the board.
