 Return papers from last class and discuss the two rubrics that were used.

1. Power Writing 2 -

1. P. 137 - Paragraphs 1 and 2 –Which is well-written.

2. P 141 - Ex. 5 and 6 - Match support with topic sentence.

3. Pp. 142-3 - Select the correct Topic Sentence.

4. P. 144 - Write 3 topic sentences for each of the following topics:

        Music

        Buses and subways

        Cell phones

     3.  Share topic sentences on board.

     4.  Choose one of the topic sentences and write a paragraph about it.

Small Group Working on Five Paragraph Essays  (Tuesday, only)

1.  Return papers from last class and discuss the use of the rubric.

2. Read essay: Hazards of MovieGoing and highlight 

Hook, Thesis Statement, Topic Sentence, Support Details, Conclusion and Essay Conclusion.
