Worksheet - Writing Titles Correctly. Go over after students have finished.
- Return paragraph from last week; discuss use of sequence when writing. 
- Go over previously worked pages 138-139 in Power Writing 1. (Selecting topic sentence, selecting topic and main idea. Counting number of supporting sentences. Write supporting details underneath topic sentence. 
- P. 140 - Determining where supporting sentences go - with topic sentence #1 or with topic sentence #2. 
- P. 141 - Look at the two pictures with the accompanying topic sentence. Write supporting sentences on the lines below the topic sentence. 
- Call on students to come to the board and write a supporting sentence. Then have a student write a conclusion. Then - look at word variety. Did every sentence begin with She? If so, change the words. 
- Read aloud Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Point out the fact that the author included a lot of supporting detail. 
- Write your own paragraph about A Fabulous Day or a Terrible, Horrible Day. Be mindful of word variety and sequence.
