Worksheet on correctly/incorrectly written sentences.  Work in pairs.  Discuss.

  1. Pass out manilla folders to keep this term’s work in.

  2. Return assessment.  Explain the assessment to the new students and encourage them to take a look at it.

  3. P. 125 - 3 main parts of a paragraph.  Encourage returning students to explain this to new students.

  4. P. 132 - Writing missing topic sentence.  Encourage returning students to assist new students.  Have students come to board and write their topic sentences.  Discuss.

  5. P. 133 - Discuss writing titles.  (This proved to need more practice since students said it was handled differently in their country.  Will start out next week’s class with such a worksheet.)

  6. P. 137 - Instruction shifting to Body (supporting details) and Conclusion.

  7. Pp. 138-139 - Students working together on these two pages.

  8. Students are to write a paragraph entitled My Favorite Day of the Week or My Favorite Season.  When students finish, read it and return to student to revise by correcting the errors they find in their first draft.  Turn in both rough draft and revision.
