Wednesday, October 2 - PM Advanced/Fluency
Class began with my observations of Juan’s art. I had looked at all the artworks posted on his Instagram page. I told him I was intrigued by features of his representations of the human form: the fluidity of bodily movement, the optimism of his colors, and, overall, the dignity of humankind.
We then read an article on HIspanic Heritage Month: what it is, why Americans celebrate it, specific festivities around the country, etc. We also listened to two songs by famous artists who happen to be Hispanic: Linda Ronstadt and Carlos Santana. We ended class with a discussion about a stereotype of Latino people: that they are passionate lovers.
