Wednesday, January 31 - AM Fluency

Opening discussion: foods or drinks that you have never had but would like to try. Two students said alligator. Another said Cuban coffee. 


We read the article on Florida foods aloud, first defining words. Then I asked students to read it again, silently, and take notes. Afterwards we compared our notes to ensure that we all had the main idea and supporting ideas. We talked about strategies for taking notes and discussed ways to prepare for the exam at the end of the term.
