We began by sharing three highlights of our lives in 2023: some students obtained visas, some students moved into new apartments, some traveled the world. We then discussed culture shock and read an article on the subject. We all admitted that moving to a different country can be scary, but it is natural to be scared; in addition, there are steps you can take to minimize fear. We all shared our experiences of culture shock. At the end of class, we listened to “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce. We analyzed the lyrics and found them, and the song, to be beautiful.
