Wednesday, February 21 - AM Fluency

Welcome to a new term! We began by discussing what we would like to do this term and how we can accomplish our goals. I have concluded that this will be a particularly lively class: lots of big personalities in the room!

We began a unit on education. Opening conversations: describe the best and the worst teachers you have ever had; in your opinion, how does US education compare to that in other countries? 

We then began reading an article that discusses a major study that analyzes student performance in 52 different countries: a study that basically assesses the quality of education in 52 different countries. (The U.S. ranked near the middle; Finland was #1.) 

We then listened to a song about education: Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (part 2).”
