Tuesday, January 23 - AM Fluency

Nearing the end of our MLK unit, we discussed possible topics for future classes. The class voted and here are the results: music, with perhaps some focus on the Rolling Stones and BTS; food/cuisine; politics, with perhaps some focus on the positions of Republicans and Democrats; and science.

We then continued our analysis of King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” Students then discussed speeches (or public figures) that have inspired them. This discussion served as the transition to my lead-up to the March on Washington and King’s “I Have a Dream Speech,” which we will read and discuss next class.
