Opening conversation: What is one of your favorite genres of music? Who are some of your favorite musical artists?

This opening-conversation question prepared us for reading the next chapter of our text, “Music in the USA” (chapter 12). We learned about the blues, jazz, swing, Motown, country, and rap. After reading the chapter, we listened to songs by Willie Dixon, Bessie Smith, and Diana Ross and the Supremes. 

We then practiced pronouncing regular verbs with -ed endings. 

We concluded class by sharing our plans for the weekend.
