Today we talked a lot about our learning objective for the term: taking notes on important information during a lecture. Students began by sharing their experiences in the past of taking notes on lectures; they then shared with the class three tips on taking notes. I then gave a mini-lecture entitled, “Taking Notes on a Lecture.” Students took notes on my lecture (about how to take notes during a lecture). They then shared their notes with the class to ensure they took notes on all the important information.

We then started work on an article on the quirkiest cities in the United States. We had a group discussion about the cities on the list that each of us has visited in the past. We then began reading the article. We learned that Tatiana does not like New York City. Why? She doesn’t like “the traffic, the people, the streets, and the rats.”
