Review chapter 1 of The Piano Man.  Read chapter 2.  Discuss vocabulary, pronunciation, add onto irregular past tense chart.  Start regular past tense pronunciation.  Identify setting, characters, conflict, plot of chapter 2.  

        Review ROM: subject verb agreement 

  • Give a diagnostic to students.  Students write 8 sentences with the goal of showing subject verb agreement.  2 sentences with singular subject in present continuous, 2 sentences with plural subject in the present continuous, 2 sentences with singular subject in the simple present, and 2 sentences with plural subjects in the simple present.
