Linguahouse: “Describing a Neighbor”
Opening discussion: Do you know your neighbors? Do you think you are a good neighbor? Why or why not? What makes a good neighbor?
vocabulary: chatty, inconsiderate, polite, funny, kind, rude, honest, tidy, messy, friendly, helpful
Students used the vocabulary to fill-in sentences and create a chart of qualities you want or don’t want in a neighbor.
Listening practice - we listened to three friends talk about their neighbors. We had to play and stop the audio several times, but the students successfully completed the exercise.
We finished some additional phrases: next-door neighbor, build a relationship, have an argument, get along, falling out, hit it off, take care of, private person, have a lot in common
