WU:  What is the best and worst thing that happened this summer?

Introduced book, Reflect 4, class copies will be used.  Students should not write in them.  

Unit 3 - What is a symbol?  Why do we use symbols?  Symbols are not only part of our writing and pronunciation system.  They are used as logos and to provide information to whole groups of people.  Used the wifi symbol and bluetooth symbol to show many symbols are universal.

Page 38/39 - Describe what you see.  Statutes as symbols.

Vocabulary page 40 - 1st dictation, write and identify the part of speech if possible.  

Gave a quick lesson on parts of speech, specifically noun, verb, adjective, and adverb.

Ex. A - fill in the correct vocabulary word

Ex. B - students write their ideas down first, then share their answers with a partner.

Recapped what was discussed/learned today.
