Focus today: pg 6-7

Warm up: Look at the picture on pg 6 

What do you see in the picture?

Go over vocab for just a bit. Everyone say one thing. Start with basic students and move to more advanced. Discuss meanings. 

Would you like to live here?

-          Have them write down their partner’s answer, then share with the class.

Do A. Main Ideas

-          Introduce “street interview” – have them look at picture on previous pg

-          A. Tell them that these are reasons. Review meaning of “reason”

-          Have them read the options first

-          Play audio and they choose correct answer

Tell them the SLO: Listening 6: Listen to an interview and take notes on key information.

Introduce “take notes”

Remind them of “key words”

Explain the box on Listening Skill.

Go over the example in the box.

Have them complete D. Apply.

E. Apply:

-          Everyone to a board

-          Take notes on interview 2 (1.4)

-          Compare with a partner

-     Repeat with the next interview

Have them choose questions from pg 4, ask classmates, and take notes on their answers (only write the key info). They can also come up with their own questions.
