Pre-reading exercises

First, I read the story and they listened and followed along. Then they read it in paragraphs out loud.

We discussed the story a bit and they put themselves in the character’s shoes.

I introduced setting, characters, characters’ feelings, and plot.

They practiced identifying these components in the story. 

They did “Understanding Cause and Effect” section.
